What is Kilo Code?
Open-source (MIT) AI coding agent that runs in VS Code, JetBrains, a CLI, mobile and Slack, and reaches hundreds of models through the Kilo Gateway at provider rates with no markup, or through your own keys or local models. Forked from Roo Code, which forked Cline. In April 2026 it peaked at #1 in OpenRouter's coding category (188B tokens, a 22.9% share); see our monthly OpenRouter report for where it stands now.
