Meta Muse Pricing & Usage Limits
Muse has a free tier with a weekly usage limit and two paid plans that raise it. Usage is counted in Muse tokens, not messages, so one long background task can use far more than a dozen quick questions. For most people the free tier covers a lot; heavy users hit the weekly limit and either wait or upgrade.

From Meta's Muse subscriptions help page (checked 2026-09-27). Some coverage calls the top plan "Maximum"; Meta's help centre calls it Max. Both paid plans get the same features and platforms; Max is 6× the usage for 5× the price. Subscriptions renew monthly on your purchase date, you can cancel at any time, and you must be 18 or the age of majority where you live. Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and not available everywhere.
What happens when you run out
The app shows a meter with the percentage of your allowance left. When it hits zero, you can upgrade or wait for the weekly reset. Nothing is billed automatically on the free tier. Resets are weekly and appear to be tied to your sign-up day, not a fixed calendar day.
Making the free tier last
- Use connectors instead of browsing. Reading your calendar through the Google connector costs far less than having Muse click around a website.
- Be specific. "Book the 7pm table at X" costs less than "find somewhere nice for Friday", which makes Muse explore.
- Trim recurring briefs. Every daily brief spends tokens whether you read it or not.
- Batch errands into one request rather than many separate background tasks.
