What you can actually set up from this
Extracted from the video's own transcript — the specifics the original summary left out.
Reproducible steps
- Add Kilo to Slack
Install 'Kilo Code' from the Slack marketplace, or go to app.kilo.ai → Integrations → Slack → Configure, add it to the workspace, and authenticate with your Kilo account. Usage bills against Kilo credits.
- Use it from threads
DM the bot, or @Kilo in a team thread with 'read this thread and implement it'. It picks the right GitHub repo from context, runs in the cloud agent, links the session so you can watch, and opens a PR or pushes.
- Use the cloud agent directly
app.kilo.ai → Integrations → connect GitHub, then Cloud Agent to work in any connected repo from the browser with no local machine.
Gotchas
- In the demo the bot pushed straight to main because the branch wasn't protected. Protect main so the Slack bot has to open PRs.
- A Slack user whose Kilo account isn't linked can't trigger the bot; an admin has to link it first.
- The KiloClaw workflow mentioned in the session was later removed from the Kilo editor (v7.7.3, September 2026).
